Last week, we convened outside the CA Governor’s LA office to deliver a message: 

Governor Newsom, Sign SB 1016 to ensure CA has the health data necessary to save lives! Support Indigenous communities in California!🗣️ #WeCount

This week SB 1016 co-sponsors met with CA Governor's office, highlighting the critical importance of signing the Latine and Indigenous Disparities Reduction Act!

We gifted the Governor a ceremonial mantel with 120+ signed postcards pinned and signed by individuals from across the state, showing that WE ARE HERE and we COUNT!! 

Latino Coalition for a Healthy California staff engaged with community members in this year's Oaxaca en Sacramento hosted by Brown Issues! During our community outreach,  we answered questions about the SB 1016 bill, signed postcards for the governor and celebrated our community members!

Phone Banking Action Days were co-hosted by co-sponsors of SB 1016 and SB 1078. Critical data and language bills were on suspense in the Assembly Appropriations Committee. This crucial action ensured the committee prioritized data and language access to all of Californians!

Latine and Indigenous Disparities Reductions Act co-sponsors were honored to participate in the Guelaguetza Oro Festival in Los Angeles! We spoke to community members about the bill, signed postcards for the governor, and celebrated together!

On August 5th and 6th, LCHC along with SB 1016 co-sponsors, partners, and data disaggregation cohort  convened at Sacramento for legislative meetings to advocate for SB 1016.

LCHC is a proud member of the Having Our Say Coalition which is in support of a forward thinking agenda that upholds health equity and racial justice for all Californians. SB 1016 is a tier one policy priority for Having Our Say Coalition.
